About Me

Hi, I’m Kate Hagstrom!

A proud Métis woman living in the unceded territory of the Secwepemc and Ktunaxa Territory.

Here is a little bit about my history

I owned a successful clothing and footwear boutique in Kelowna and then in Fort Langley BC, combining over 25 years of living, learning, love, tears and joy.

Oh, the romanticism of running your own company!

Then in 2015, my hubby decided to build his dream home in Fairmont, BC, and here I am recreating myself once again.

I have always had a great passion for anything that is creative, weaving, felting, dyeing, leather crafting, and anything that is a natural fibre.

I regale in touching natural fibres. Silk, hemp, wool, Alpaca, cotton…oh, how it makes my heart race.

I have had the great fortune of knowing many talented fibre artists over the years and am always envious of what they create.

I have dabbled in weaving, starting off with a rigid heddle loom and moving up to a 4 shaft Ashford loom, now I’m lucky enough to have a Louet Spring loom.

Trying my hand at silk painting, marbling, knitting, tie-dying, and aromatherapy. I love it all!

My newest passion is sublimation printing,  I sublimate all kinds of things, from coffee mugs to underwear!

I travelled to India in December 2016 and studied to be a Yoga Instructor with Rishikul Yogshala in Rishikesh, the yoga capital of the world. I was there for 5 wondrous weeks.

I love to adventure travel, riding monkey bikes across Morocco, paddling down the Amazon, driving tuk tuks through India and riding my motorcycle.

Life is short; enjoy what you do…I like to think my wine glass is always half full…

Cheers!!!

Kate
